  • The JEM Foundation is committed to helping local communities by providing families and children with basic needs and educational resources to encourage healthy growth and development.

  • The JEM Foundation is run by the Founders, Kiesha and Jarrod Lashley, as well as a dedicated team of volunteers.

  • Complete the Volunteer Form to begin the screening process and share your areas of interest. Please note, all volunteers must have proof of identification and any volunteer working with children must pass a criminal background check.

  • Volunteer opportunities may include planning and working events, administrative tasks, collecting and sorting donations, outreach, social media, working directly with families and children.

  • We accept monetary and in-kind donations, including water, non-perishable food items, personal care items, and new or gently used clothing and shoes. In the summer and winter, we accept school supplies and new or gently used books and toys.

  • Yes, a U.S. charity can do anything in a foreign country it can do in the U.S., provided the activity is consistent with the charity’s exemption purpose.

  • Families with children 12 and under, receiving government-funded assistance from SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, Medicare, or TANF are eligible for assistance. Families with children 12 and under, experiencing an unexpected life event such as the loss of a guardian, a natural disaster, loss of employment, or long-term illness are also eligible.

  • To qualify, you must provide documentation as evidence of your active enrollment in a government-funded program or evidence of your recent life event (not to exceed 3 months). We accept copies of required documentation through our online Outreach Application.

  • We strive to process all requests in a timely manner despite our small (but mighty) staff. Please allow at least 2-3 weeks for processing.
